  • SUSTAINABLE:  Organic Kapok is a natural cotton-silk-like fiber naturally harvested from the tropical Kapok tree. Kapok has one of the lowest environmental impacts compared to other materials so is good for the environment and your home, non-toxic, fully biodegradable.
  • ANIMAL FREE: Harvested from Ceiba Trees Kapok is Vegan, petroleum and chemical free and Kapok fiber is a Renewable Resource.
  • LOCALLY MADE: 33 years of Made in America, Bean Products are made to last from the best eco-friendly materials available - sustainably sourced & domestically produced by a family run business in the USA.
Raising and harvesting kapok has the lowest environmental impact compared to any other fiber materials in use today, including plastic and cotton except for perhaps hemp. The trees are not cut down and do not require irrigation or any chemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides.  Abundant seed pods fall and are gathered, opened up and the fiber removed, cleaned and baled for transport.
Not only is the kapok tree an important part of rainforest ecology, but it also plays a pivotal role in forest preservation efforts.
The emerging industry is beginning to stimulate local economies improving the lives of women and their families in rural areas (helping to stem migration to more densely populated urban areas.)
After the baled kapok fiber arrives at our factory in Chicago, we manually process it through our fluffing machine to loosen up the delicate soft fibers and then we vacuum it all down in recycled poly bags for efficient shipping to you.

Kapok plant is very important for biological survival at it's source, when it's useful life ends and fully biodegrades feeding the soil and our higher biological survival by avoiding planet killing petroleum based materials.
