Latex Pillows

GOLS-certified organic shredded latex inside a zippered organic cotton shell, in eight sizes from a 4 x 12 neck roll to a 20 x 36 king. Shredded latex gives you the bounce and support of a solid latex pillow without the block-of-rubber feel: it moves with you, springs back when you shift, and doesn't flatten the way poly or memory foam does. Made in the USA.

Shredded vs. solid latex

A solid Talalay or Dunlop latex pillow is one molded piece: consistent, springy, and exactly as tall as it was made. Shredded latex is the same material cut into small pieces, so it conforms to your head and neck and can be adjusted. Ours are shredded only. If you want a molded contour pillow with a fixed shape, that's a different product and we don't make it.

Latex vs. memory foam

Latex springs back the moment you lift your head; memory foam holds the dent. Latex breathes through the gaps between pieces; memory foam traps heat. Latex has a faint natural rubber smell for a few days; memory foam off-gasses chemicals for weeks. And latex keeps its loft for years where foam softens. If you liked the support of memory foam but woke up hot, this is the pillow to try.

Which size

The 20 x 26 standard suits most side and back sleepers; queen and king give more surface if you move. Every size zips open, so if it arrives higher than you like, take out a handful of fill and keep it for later. The 14 x 20 Japanese size is lower and firmer-feeling for back sleepers. The 13 x 18 toddler/travel size works for kids and carry-ons. Neck rolls (4 x 12, 5 x 14, 6 x 16) go under the neck on a flat pillow, behind the lower back, or between the knees.

Allergies

Natural latex resists dust mites and mold, which is why it's a common pick for allergy sufferers. It's not the pillow for anyone with a latex allergy; choose kapok or buckwheat instead.

Care

Unzip the shell and wash it like any cotton. The latex never goes in the washer or dryer; spot-clean and air-dry out of direct sun, since UV breaks latex down over time.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a Talalay latex pillow?

No. Talalay and Dunlop describe solid molded latex. Ours is shredded organic latex, which conforms and adjusts where a molded pillow can't.

Are latex pillows good for side sleepers?

Yes, in the standard size or larger. The fill supports the gap between shoulder and head without collapsing.

Does it smell?

New natural latex has a mild rubbery smell that fades within a few days. It isn't a chemical off-gassing smell.

How long does a latex pillow last?

Years. Latex keeps its resilience long after poly fiber and memory foam have gone flat.
