Why Does Hemp Resist Mold?
Hemp curtains are often chosen for their durable, breathable fabric. However, mold resistance does not mean mold-proof. Any curtain that stays damp or accumulates soap residue can develop mildew.
Drying and care matter
- Spread the curtain fully across the rod after showering so folds can dry.
- Ventilate the bathroom and keep the hem from sitting in pooled water.
- Wash according to the curtain’s instructions when residue or dirt builds up.
- Let it dry completely; do not leave it bunched up while wet.
Fabric weight, weave, bathroom humidity, and care affect how quickly a curtain dries. Do not rely on a blanket claim that hemp prevents all mold or requires no washing. Persistent mildew is a reason to review cleaning and ventilation, not simply to change fabric.
