Which Bean Bag Safety Certifications Matter?
Look for the certification that applies to the particular material, and confirm its scope. A material certificate is not a guarantee about every component of a finished chair.
For foam filling
CertiPUR-US certifies flexible polyurethane foam for specified content, emissions, and durability criteria. It does not certify the entire chair, its fabric cover, or latex. Ask which filling is covered and consult the CertiPUR-US program information.
Check the physical construction too
Follow the chair’s age guidance and safety instructions. Closures should prevent children from accessing loose filling. Inspect seams and zippers, keep loose fill away from children and pets, and stop use if filling can escape. Certifications do not replace these checks or safe use.
